Ramadan Kareem Meaning

The arabic phrase people used to wish during Ramadan, is ‘Ramadan Kareem’. Ramadan Kareem meaning is ‘Ramadan is generous’ which is used to wish happiness during the begining of the holy month of Ramadan. The word Kareem means nobly generous or magnanimous in the Arabic language. In a Muslim calendar year, Ramadan is the 9th month in which all Muslims wish each other Ramadan Kareem. The phrase ‘Ramadan Mubarak’ is also popular among the Muslim community in South Asia. In Arabic language, Mubarak means blessed.


Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) has said that:

Whoever reads only one ‘Ayat’ in Holy month of Ramadan, he will be gifted as if he had recited the full Qur’an in all other months of the year.
