BCB XI vs Zimbabwe Warm-up ODI Preview
BCB XI vs Zimbabwe warm-up practice ODI match will be played on Nov 5 in KSOAS Fatullah Stadium. BCB vs Zimbabwe practice match will be a day match starting at 9am in the morning.
BCB has announced a strong BCB XI squad lead by Masrafe Bin Mortaza, which will be a good fitness test for him after recovering from dengue fever. Bangladesh national squad faces like Mushfiqur Rahim, Shabbir Rahaman, Liton Das are also in the BCB XI team line-up. After a long time, Shahriar Nafees, the former Bangladesh opener, came under BCB radar with his two consecutive centuries in the NCL this week.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe will take this warm-up opportunity to adopt in Bangladesh weather & turning pitches after losing both the series against Pakistan & Afghanistan at home. Zimbabwe recalled Regis Chakabva who had good performances for the A side against Ireland, and Graeme Cremer who has recovered from an ankle injury sustained during one of the ODI matches against Ireland earlier in the month, thus put up a stronger side than home series line-up.
Commenting on the Zimbabwe squad, the convener of the national selection panel, Kenyon Ziehl, said: “We have picked a senior national squad that we believe will quickly recover from the disappointing series against Afghanistan and go to Bangladesh to show that we are a competitive nation.
“We have recalled Chakabva on the back of his strong performances for the A side against Ireland recently, as well as Cremer who has been declared fit to play.”
