Bangladesh A vs Northerns 2nd ODI Preview
Bangladesh A will play their 2nd warm-up ODI practice match against the Northerns/Titans at the Irene Oval on Oct 27. Bangladesh A vs Northerns 2nd ODI will start at 2pm Bangladesh time (08:00 GMT). Bangladesh A lost the 1st ODI against Northerns by 4 wickets on Oct 20. Bangladesh A propelled to 272 losing 7 wickets in 50 overs, while the Titans gun down the score losing 6 wickets and having 9 balls to spare.
Bangladesh A also lost the 3-day match against the Northerns Academy team. The touring team will try to gear up in the winning seat before the tour of Zimbabwe. Bangladesh A middle order batsmen must play longer innings to put up a fighting total against the defending Africa T20 Cup-champions and the joint Sunfoil Three Day Cup-winners. Finally, to win a game in South African pitches, death over bowling is something to learn for Bangladesh bowlers. Proteas pitches are fast and bouncy with grass all over it and acts very different than any sub-continent pitches.
Bangladesh A will play a T20 against the Titans on Wednesday, Oct 28.
“We were one of the best teams in the domestic limited-overs competition last season, and we want to build on it this season. This performance will boost our confidence for the 2015/2016-competition,” said Mark Charlton, the Northerns coach.
Bangladesh team manager Habibul Bashar looked pretty annoyed over the batsmen being getting out on 30 or 40 odd runs, he said “Our batsmen are showing good flow of strokes, but they also need to learn leaving good balls in this kind of grassy pitches. They should have adopt the Proteas conditions much better way in the last ten days. Also our bowlers are doing well in the early overs but failing to keep the momentum later while the ball gets old. We are keen to win the rest of the matches in SA before leaving for Zimbabwe.”
