Bangladesh government approved 22 public holidays for the year 2016. List of BD government holidays 2016 are finalized after consultations with Bangla Academy, Religious Affairs Ministry and Meteorological Department.
According to the approved public holidays lists 2016, there would be 14 public holidays. In addition, there would be another eight holidays, which would be observed on executive order from the government of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Govt Holidays 2016 have 14 general holidays which will include four weekly holidays — two Fridays and two Saturdays — while out of the 8 (eight) holidays by executive order of the government, there would be no weekly holidays.
Apart from the 22 days of Bangladesh government holidays in 2016, there will also be three-day optional holidays for various religious communities of the country.
Besides, there will also be optional holidays on 29th of Chaitra and 2nd of Boishakh for the people living in the Chittagong hill tract districts marking the “Boishabi” festival of the ethnic minority groups.
