BPL T20 Logo Unveiled by Bangladesh Cricket Board
The logo for Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), country’s elite T20 tournament was unveiled through a grand spectacle at city’s Radisson Water Garden Hotel on Thursday.
The T20 extravaganza will kick off on February 9 with six big-budgeted teams, much similar to Indian Premier League and Australian Big Bash sides.
Six icon players of the tournament, Star allrounder Shakib Al Hasan (Khulna), opener Tamim Iqbal (Chittagong), middle-order batsman Shahriar Nafees (Barisal), skipper Mushfiqur Rahim (Rajshahi), allrounder Alok Kapali (Sylhet) and Mohammad Ashraful (Dhaka were present on logo launching ceremony. These icon players will represent their own divisions in the tournament and each of the franchise will have one of them each in their team.

The logo was unveiled as renowned artists of the country Kaiyum Chowdhury, Hashem Khan, Rafiqun Nabi, Shishir Bhattacharjee, and Monirul Islam endowed the background of the logo with their drawings.
Finally, BCB president AHM Mustafa Kamal, State Minister for Youth and Sports Ahad Ali Sarkar unveiled the logo.
Jahid Hasan Russell MP, Enayetur Rahman Bappi of Channel 9, director of Games on Sports Management Company Anjan Ganguly and Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, director of BCB and chairman of BPL’s governing body were also present on stage.
“I’m very happy that Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is finally taking off. This project is really important for BCB. We have some objectives on our min, primarily overall improvement of Bangladesh. The players can also improve themselves with such big tournament. We designed this event to entertain the cricket fans as well as general people. Next objective is to bring some revenue to Bangladesh Cricket board (BCB) and the last one is to represent Bangladesh through BPL,” Said BCB president Mustafa Kamal.
The function was presented by famous anchor Afzal Hossain.
